Tibet Foundation - Volunteering
Overseas
Tibet Foundation is only able to arrange voluntary placements in Asia under exceptional circumstances.
For volunteers in India, we recommend contacting the partner organisation with which we often work, the Education Department of the Tibetan Administration in India. The Education Department are often able to arrange English teaching placements in schools, but this would generally be for periods of one year or more.
Their contact details are:
Department of Education.
The Tibetan Administration in Exile,
Gangchen Kyishong
Dharamsala (District Kangra)
Himachal Pradesh, 176215
India.

UK
The working of our office in London depends largely on volunteers. We are always looking for motivated people to work with us, particularly though not exclusively in the following fields:
- Translators - English, Tibetan, Mandarin, Mongolian, French, Hindi and Urdu are key languages we use.
- Graphic Designers - particularly with layout experience.
- Researchers - we need to collate ever more information on our work in China, Mongolia and South Asia.
- Fundraisers
If you have these or any other skills to offer the Tibet Foundation, and would like to work in an office which (though busy) has a unique atmosphere, then e-mail or write to Tsering Passang at Tibet Foundation, and arrange a meeting to discuss volunteering. Please consider the following:
- Bring a CV or list of your skills - we always try to find people work which will interest them.
- Please give us some idea of how much of a commitment you can make. It is much easier for us to find interesting work for people able to make a regular commitment to Tibet Foundation.
Since most of our staff are volunteers, Tibet Foundation does not routinely advertise paid positions. When these are available they are advertised through out News page.
