New Year Message from Phuntsog Wangyal, Chairman of Tibet Foundation

Dear Supporter,

At the start of another year, I would like to say a heartfelt thank-you to each of our supporters for your invaluable support over this past year. 2012 was a very difficult and challenging year for Tibetans. But it was also a year when Tibetans showed great courage and commitment to their cause. Tibet Foundation continued its support in education, health care and relief of poverty. On behalf of everyone at the Foundation, I would like to thank you all for your continued support.

We have much to look forward to this coming year, including on-going and new aid projects for Tibetans both inside and outside Tibet, especially in the areas of education for the young and care for the elderly:

  • After successful completion of two consecutive years of medical training for doctors and health workers in Yushu further trainings this summer, focusing on women’s health and upgrading skills of medical professionals in the exiting Tibetan hospitals.
  • Publication of First-Aid handbooks in Tibetan language for the benefit of local population in Tibetan Autonomous Prefectures. Support to Tibetan graduates for getting university education.
  • Support to elderly Tibetans in India and Nepal who have no relatives to look after them and who need our support the most.

I hope that 2013 will be a good year for you and your family, and that you will continue your support to make Foundation’s charitable work as successful as it has been for the past 27 years. Looking forward to keeping in touch with you in 2013.

Thank You and Happy New Year!

Phuntsog Wangyal
Chairman, Tibet Foundation
