The Nobel Peace Day
Friday 9th December 2011: To mark the historic event of awarding Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Oslo on 10th December 1989, the Tibetan Community and Tibet Foundation are organising an event:
‘Nobel Peace Day’ on Friday 9th December 2011 at Kailash Centre in St Johns Wood at 7pm.
Refreshment served. Entrance Free
The event provides a good opportunity to reflect on contributions His Holiness the Dalai Lama has made towards better understanding the value of non-violence as the means to achieving peace and living in harmony. His Holiness believes, “all religions pursue the same goals, that of cultivating human goodness and bringing happiness to all human beings”.
The most venerable Lelung Rinpoche and His Holiness’s representative in London Mr Thupten Samdup will be present to lead prayers and to speak on the occasion.
In concluding his acceptance speech in Oslo in 1989, His Holiness said, “I pray for all of us, oppressor and friend, that together we succeed in building a better world through human understanding and love, and that in doing so we may reduce the pain and suffering of all sentient beings”.
On this Nobel Peace Day let us all join His Holiness in his prayers and wish him long life and good health. May all his wishes be fulfilled!
