Tibet Foundation & 2012 Paris Marathon!
On April 15th 2012, Tibet Foundation supporter Sam Leigh will be running the 2012 Paris Marathon on behalf of Tibet Foundation: 26 miles of probable pain and endurance through some of Frances finest streets.
Sam has been a regular volunteer in the Foundation over the last few months, and has chosen to run the marathon to raise funds for Tibet Foundation.
In his own words:
I became inspired by the work and projects of the Foundation in late 2011, and having recently returned from gathering research for my Social Anthropology degree in Dharamsala, felt that the Tibet Foundation was one of the best NGOs working in the region. Since then, I have helped out a little in the office, and learnt a great deal from Phuntsog and the team about both the achievements and difficulties of the charity and fundraising. I have been training very hard in the run-up to April, putting in over 6 hours a week of running, and hope to raise as much as possible, as I know it will be put to good use; to urgently aid Tibetans in both Tibet and in exile.
