Dec 13, 2018 at 6:30 PM

A talk by John Billington

John Billington is a retired schoolmaster who taught in India from 1958 to 1965 and then in the UK until 1996. Among his famous pupils are Salman Rushdie, the Indian novelist, whom he tutored in Latin in 1960; and Jeremy Clarkson to whom he taught English in 1976. John has travelled widely in India, Nepal, Burma and Tibet over 60 years and has a long-standing interest in Tibet.

In September 2018, he travelled with Phuntsog Wangyal, the founding trustee, to look at the ongoing projects funded by Tibet Foundation.
