An exhibition of paintings by Tibetan Refugee Children from India

These sixteen paintings by Tibetan refugee children from India depict their hopes and their memories of the exile experience. These incredible artworks are produced in water colour and oil paintings by the refugee children themselves at Tibetan Homes Foundation School in Mussoorie.

The titles include - light the fuel of education, pilgrimage, nomadic life, yak caravan crossing wooden bridge, and yangchenma goddess of music.

The Tibetan Homes Foundation (THF) School, located near Mussoorie in north India, is one of the 82 Tibetan schools established under the Central Tibetan Administration ('Tibetan Government in Exile'), to provide both traditional and modern education. Over 2,400 Tibetan children attend the school, many of whom have fled Tibet to India through Nepal in search of a better education.

THF has been a beneficiary of Tibet Foundation for many years. In 2005, eleven refugee children and two teachers from THF took part in the 21-day of UK Tour, organised by Tibet Foundation. This exhibition hopes to raise more awareness and funds to support the Tibetan refugee children at THF towards their educational programmes.
