A Talk by Author Tsering N. Khortsa, followed by book signing

Tsering Namgyal, born in North India in 1971, holds an MA in journalism from National Taiwan University. His articles on Tibetan affairs have appeared in many regional publications including the Asia Times, Taipei Times, the Asian Wall Street Journal and Himal South Asian. He has covered the 1999 Asia Pacific Leadership Summit in Auckland, New Zealand and His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s trips to Taiwan. As a business writer, his commentaries were widely read not just in Taiwan but around the Asia Pacific region.

In 2003, he decided to embark on a book project on his own community and this was how his first book, Little Lhasa: Reflections on Exiled Tibet, was born. In ten chapters, the book takes a look at various aspects of the Tibetan exiled life and the emerging trends in the Tibetan community of India. And how the Tibetan Diaspora is changing so rapidly as it responds to the new realities of life in exile.
