The Saga Dawa Festival falls on the 15th day of the Four

The Saga Dawa Festival falls on the 15th day of the Fourth month in Tibetan lunar calendar. It is the day when Buddha Sakyamuni was born, emancipated from suffering and attained Nirvana. In Tibet, Saga Dawa is observed as the holiest festival and people join in circumambulations round the monasteries and sacred pilgrimage sites. It is believed that merit earned on this day is multiplied a million times. Followers of different Buddhist traditions will meet together at the Foundation for prayers and celebration observing this holy day. Guest speaker: Geshe Pema Dorjee, Principal of Sarah College for Higher Tibetan Studies. Former director of the Tibetan Children's Village (TCV) school in Dharamsala, India.

Free entry - donations welcome.
