In the Tibetan Lunar calendar, the 25th day of the Tenth

In the Tibetan Lunar calendar, the 25th day of the Tenth month is the anniversary of Je Tsongkhapa, founder of the Gelugpa School of Tibetan Buddhism. This significant day in the Buddhist calendar is known as Gaden Ngachoe or Festival of Lights, which is traditionally celebrated all over Tibet. Unlike previous year, this year, there are two Tenth months in the calendar! (The second tenth month is chosen to celebrate the special occasion at the Foundation.) The evening provides an opportunity to sum-up year 2002 by making offering of lights and flowers with prayers, followed by meditation and discussion on the practice of Dharma in our daily Life. Ms. Bridget Hickey, a practising Buddhist in the Theravada tradition leads the discussion. Refreshment served.

Free Entrance (donations welcome).
