Health

Social and Environmental factors combine to make Tibet one of the worst served regions of Asia for healthcare.
Where medical treatments are available, few families are able to afford them. Quality of treatments is often poor - clinics are under-equipped, and medicines old.
The Tibetan Autonomous Region has the lowest UN Human Development Index of any region of China. Tibetans have the lowest life expectancy of any nationality of China.
Aid to Tibet is working to support the re-establishment of Tibetan medicine - the medical system best suited to the Tibetan environment - to Tibet.
