Student Activity

In Autumn 2001 the programme began supporting the work of the Dharmachakra Students Club at the Mongolian National University. The Club is a registered non-governmental organization that aims to educate young believers about Buddhism and to develop Buddhist culture and Buddhism as a religion in a simple and approachable way to the population.

Activities of the Club include bi-monthly educational meetings for students and lay people, research conferences, competitions and regular newsletters and publications. They are currently undertaking a publishing project to produce books on Buddhism for young people. The student group works hard and enthusiastically and seem to be making headway in their aim to make Mongolian traditional culture understandable and relevant for their contemporaries.
